GARLIC BUTTER BAKED CHICKEN THIGHS
Does there exist a food item that doesn’t taste tasty when coated with garlic butter? It’s the simplest, most reliable method of making something utterly delicious. Since it’s the week following Thanksgiving and I’m not feeling like spending too much cooking, I cooked up these simple Garlic Butter Baked Chicken Thighs. They’ll take about five minutes of preparation and about thirty minutes of baking; after that, they’re ready to serve!
WHAT TO SERVE WITH GARLIC BUTTER CHICKEN THIGHS
First, you’ll find a significant amount of garlic butter lemony in the middle of your baking dish. So you’ll want to serve this dish with something to absorb or pour it over. Today, I did mine along with rosemary-roasted Potatoes and some easy green beans that were steamed, and both of them benefited from an ample drizzle. Garlic Herb Mash Potatoes could also be fantastic, as would homemade no Knead Bread or even a plain dish of rice. Are you a garlic lover? Double it up with a side of Homemade garlic bread with a side of garlic bread!
CAN YOU MAKE THIS WITH CHICKEN BREAST?
The timings and temperatures below are specifically for skinless, boneless chicken thighs. If you’d prefer boneless breasts, you can follow the instructions for my Garlic Herb Roasted Chicken Breast recipe. Skin-on, bone-in chicken thighs will require more time to cook. However, I have not tried this with this kind of chicken, so I do not know the exact cooking necessary amount of time.
FOR THE BEST RESULTS, USE A MEAT THERMOMETER
The ovens are different, as do baking dishes, and the size of the thighs of chicken may differ. These and other factors can impact the baking time, which is why it’s crucial to have a thermometer for your meat. It’s a very affordable electronic thermometer for meat (affiliate click). It makes me know with certainty whether my food is being cooked at a safe temperature and if I’m at risk of overcooking my meat.
INGREDIENTS
4. Tbsp of butter ($0.40)
Four cloves garlic, chopped ($0.32)
1/4 tsp of paprika ($0.02)
1/4 tsp salt ($0.02)
freshly cracked pepper ($0.02)
One fresh lemon ($0.79)
Two tablespoons freshly chopped Parsley (optional) ($0.10)
Five skinless, boneless poultry thighs (about 1.25 pounds.) ($4.36)
INSTRUCTIONS
The oven should be heated to about 400°F. Put the butter inside a container and microwave for approximately 30 seconds to ensure the butter is melted. Mix in the chopped garlic minced, the paprika and salt, a bit of fresh cracked black pepper (about 1/8 teaspoon), and around one tablespoon of chopped fresh parsley. Stir until it is all combined.
Place the thighs of the chicken in the 8×8″ baking dish. Spread this garlic butter mix over the thighs of the chicken and then use the spoon’s back to spread it across your chicken’s surfaces.
Cut the lemon into half-rounds. Scatter the lemon slices around the chicken that is in the dish.
Transfer the baking dish into the oven to roast the chicken for 30 to 35 minutes, or until the inner thigh temperature is 165oF.
Use a utensil to pour baking juices on top of the chicken. Then sprinkle the rest of the teaspoon of fresh Parsley chopped on top before serving.
