It’s Friday, and I will share a simple pizza recipe with you! BBQ Chicken Pizza is such a favorite that it is sweet and tangy and salty barbecue sauce. A few pieces of tender meat, creamy cheese, and sweet onions. However, after making pizzas for money for a few years, I discovered that there are many other delicious things you can add to the Barbecue Chicken Pizza! Keep reading to find your copy of the “classic” recipe below and different “fun” toppings that go perfectly with the BBQ flavors.

WHAT KIND OF PIZZA DOUGH SHOULD I USE?

It is possible to use any pizza dough or crust you prefer in your recipe for BBQ Chicken Pizza. I chose to use my favorite Homemade Pizza Dough; however, it could also be delicious on the thin And Crispy pizza Crust as well as on French Bread or an oven-baked tortilla, or even your favorite grocery store Gluten-free crust or cauliflower. The toppings listed below should suffice to fill a pizza crust of 14-16 inches.

CAN I SUBSTITUTE THE CHICKEN?

Sure! If you’re not a fan of chicken, try substituting for black beans a can (mixed with the sauce and spices listed to make the sauce for your chicken) or even shrimp.

If you are a chicken fan but don’t have the time to cook from scratch, it is possible to use ready-to-eat chicken. Using a rotisserie chicken, you can chop it up and mix it in BBQ sauce. If you’re using canned chicken breasts, thoroughly drain the chicken, then gently fold it into it. Then, gently fold in the BBQ sauce.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE BBQ SAUCE?

I’m not a huge fan of BBQ Sauce. However, I prefer Sweet Baby Ray’s flavor. I like smoking BBQ sauces over the more sweet sauces. Today, I tried the Hickory Smoke BBQ Sauce from Kroger. I believe it would be fun to experiment with a smoky BBQ sauce or perhaps one that is a pineapple-flavored BBQ sauce.

WHAT ELSE CAN YOU PUT ON A BBQ CHICKEN PIZZA?

Here’s where it gets exciting. Here are a few other toppings I’ve tried in the BBQ Chicken Pizzas through the many years

Bacon

Pineapple (don’t @ me)

Feta (surprisingly tasty in comparison to that sugary BBQ sauce)

Green onion

Cilantro

Cheddar cheese

Ranch dressing

Corn

Black Beans

Quick BBQ Chicken

One boneless, skinless, and skinless chicken breast (about 2/3 1 lb.) ($3.22)

1/2 tsp smoked paprika ($0.05)

14 tsp of garlic powder ($0.02)

1/8 tsp salt ($0.02)

1/8 tsp pepper ($0.02)

Half TBSP cooking oils ($0.04)

1/4 cup BBQ sauce ($0.11)

Pizza

One pizza dough that is prepared ($0.62)

1/2 cup BBQ sauce ($0.22)

4 oz. Monterey Jack cheese, shred ($0.85)

One jalapeno (optional), sliced ($0.15)

1/4 cup of red onion sliced ($0.11)

INSTRUCTIONS

Mix the smoked garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper in a small bowl. Then, sprinkle all sides of the breasts of chicken with the spice mixture.

The skillet should be heated to medium heat. Incorporate the cooking oils, and swirl them around to cover the skillet’s surface. Place the chicken breasts in the skillet and cook for about 7 minutes on each side or until the chicken is cooked (internal temperature of 160oF). Transfer the chicken onto the clean-cut board.

Allow the chicken to rest for approximately 5 minutes, then chop it into small pieces. Include 14 teaspoon BBQ sauce on the chicken pieces and stir until the chicken is coated with the sauce.

The oven should be heated to 45oF. Put the pizza crust or dough on a pizza pan. Apply around 12 cups of BBQ sauce over the top.

Include cheese BBQ chicken pieces, sliced jalapenos, and onion slices to the pizza.

Pizza is cooked for 10 to 12 minutes or until the cheese and crust are golden. Cut into eight slices and then serve.
